The morning sunlight had softly made its way through the curtains, lighting the living room. I settled in with a coffee in my hand, and enjoyed the silence.

Another day was starting, and so did the old problem of work and parenting.

Working at home was supposed to be slack, an irony. No one said it wouldn’t be a constant tug-of-war between two very busy kids for my attention, though.
